EMAR ANDERSON TRAVELED with his wife from their home in Minnesota to visit their daughter in Los Angeles. One morning he went for a walk and came to a construction site. He was taking a close look at the work area when he was stopped by a shout. “Hey old man,” said a hard hat, sitting with a group of other workers taking a coffee break, “you know you can’t come in here. Can’t you read that sign?” He pointed to a notice: MEN WORKING.
Elmar looked at the sign, then at the lounging men. “Back where I come from, we don’t need a sign,” he said. “We can tell by watching em.”
